What is ‘The Aerial Hammock’?
A soft apparatus that is adaptable to the body’s shape mimicking fascia and skin. The hammock offers a sense of flying, floating and being supported in suspension is different from any normal gravity experience.

The Aerial Therapeutics Foundation Course
This Foundation course introduces practitioners to the theoretical background of Aerial Therapeutics and offers an experiential component of the unique healing qualities of the aerial hammock. This course is a pre-requisite to the Postgraduate Applied Aerial Therapeutics program.

The Applied Aerial Therapeutics Postgraduate Course
Launching March 2020
The 150hr Postgraduate Applied Aerial Therapeutics course offers a comprehensive instructional, theoretical and practical training for participants to walk away confident in their self-mastery and ability to understand and facilitate the therapeutic benefits of the aerial technique. Facilitated by master instructor Renae Stevens and co-facilitated with clinical experts in physiotherapy, rehabilitation, psychology, yoga therapy, traumatology and occupational therapy.

About Course Presenter
Renae holds a master’s degree in Mental Health and is a registered Art Therapist experienced in trauma recovery. Renae is recognised by Yoga Australia as a Senior Yoga Teacher with 20 years of teaching experience. Her foundational years of study involved completing a full-time 3 year training specialised in Yoga Therapy at the Yoga Arts Academy in Melbourne, Circus Arts training in Beijing and Physiotherapy foundation studies in anatomy and physiology at the University of Queensland.
Do I need a prerequisite of other aerial trainings or movement experience?
This course is open to those with either an existing physical health qualification or mental health qualification, however existing experience with aerial modalities/movement are not necessary.
How will this training benefit my studio?
Through the course you will be familiarised with clinical terminology that will assist you in communicating with your clients health professionals, or working in co-ordination with a multi-disciplinary clinical team.
What does the Postgraduate Aerial Therapeutics Course offer?
The Postgraduate Applied Aerial Therapeutics course will offer a comprehensive instructional, theoretical and practical training for participants to walk away confident in their self-mastery and ability to understand and implement the therapeutic benefits of the aerial technique within the realm of their existing professional scope.
How will the foundation course/post graduate course complement existing AntiGravity® Aerial trainings?
This course will provide the AntiGravity® instructor with new complementary theoretical knowledge to appreciate the therapeutic aspects of the aerial hammock. Instructors will learn innovative practical ways to modify, adapt and appropriately deliver their existing knowledge of aerial curriculum to achieve more therapeutic results. This course will provide the AntiGravity® instructor with the therapeutic skills to work beyond ‘fitness’ to enable students that may require a therapeutic approach to feel successful and gain positive change.

Physical health professionals, exercise physiologists and movement instructors seeking to understand the therapeutic qualities of the aerial hammock apparatus and learn trauma-sensitive approaches. Mental health professionals and occupational therapists interested in integrating a somatic modality into their practice assisting sensory information processing and developing self-regulation within a trauma recovery context will also benefit from this course.
